Anyone who wants to assert themselves on the market as a volume brand in Europe has to offer a compact station wagon. At Peugeot, the 308 SW is one of them, which is still heavily camouflaged for its test drives. Now that the new generation of the Golf is available in all variants, Peugeot is also working on the new generation of models.

Peugeot 308 SW 2021 Prices
The five-door 308 is expected to be presented in the summer of 2021 and will be the brand’s first model to bear the new Peugeot logo. The SW station wagon version should celebrate its premiere a little later, we expect early autumn 2021. As far as prices are concerned, Peugeot has not yet commented on it. The current 308 SW starts at a price of just under 23,000 euros. In any case, we expect a little more, the new 308 SW is estimated to be available from 25,000 euros, for the compact car 1,000 euros are less realistic.
Engines and driving behavior
There will be no purely electric model of the 308 – at least in the next generation – because the platform is not designed for that. However, a plug-in hybrid is very likely and, as the group brother DS 4 shows, it could get a system output of 225 hp. Of course, conventional drives are still on offer. Gasoline engines with outputs between 130 and 225 hp would make sense, as would a diesel with 130 hp, which will most likely even be designed as a mild hybrid.
DS only uses 8-speed automatic transmissions, which is unrealistic for the Peugeot. At least the basic version will have a 6-speed gearbox.
Technical data
The optics of the new 308 SW will very likely be based on the still quite new 508 SW because the lines seem to be a little more angular than on the previous station wagon. Unfortunately, due to the still strong camouflage, much more is not visible.
From a technical point of view, the new generation of the 308 uses a further developed EMP2 platform. The PSA Group has already installed this further development in the DS 4, which is why you can derive a lot from the 308 SW here.
Peugeot 308 SW 2021 Interior
The interior of the DS 4 tells us that the 308 SW will also become significantly more digital. A head-up display with augmented reality is certainly the highlight here. It will probably not be quite as classy as in big brother 508, but we are counting on high-quality materials and lots of assistance systems that make driving easier and safer.
As far as the luggage compartment is concerned, no information is known yet. The 308 SW trunk currently fits between 610 and 1,660 liters, which is quite a lot.
